Cebu city - week 1in the Philippines -

After the harsh welcome at the immigration at Philippine airport, we headed to the city by bus and tax to checked-in the hotel. The local people are so friendly. They help us when they see us straggling to find something. Much appreciated 👍 Now we are ready to explore our short stay here.

Lunch time. Stinking hot for us but they look cool….
This humidity and strong sunshine remind me of Malaysia. I am familiar with it but really hot.

Chinese skewer-grilled food @Chinese Ngohiong. We happened to find this shop as passed by. Many options of fried stuff like veggies, crabs and meat. The triangular pyramid on the upper plate is called Puso, cooked rice wrapped in coconut fronds. I saw them hanging at many stalls.

The decorative mini bus called Jeepney.  They all have different design! It’s very handy transport
for locals. Too hard for us to work it out in a short stay.Maybe next time.

The dome is so impressive. Please find the link if you want to know bit of history about this.

Cats are everywhere and they are more friend than dogs. This is mommy cat and her babies in the shoe shop. Really laid back.the shops open late like 8 pm. No wonder because it’s cooler than daytime so easy to go shopping.

The heart of Cebu is busting and lively. We mainly wandered around Colon street where is the busiest and oldest road here so great for shipping and restaurants. However I must say that  there are many street kids and homeless people I was asked food or money. This hierarchy makes me very upset because the world is unfair. Hope those wellness gap would end in future…

We didn’t see any travelers like us here for some reasons. Is it in a quiet season? Anyway we will see.
