The last week in Bohol - week 3 in the Philippines -

I finally had the chance to meet Tarsia, the tiniest monkey in the world, and let me tell you, it was absolutely thrilling! These little creatures are so petite, they fit right in the palm of my hand! This sanctuary is the ultimate destination for spotting them, a gem my local tour guide friend recommended, and now I can’t help but rave about it. Our guided tour was a quick 15 minutes, but it was packed with excitement as we navigated through the area. The guide was super friendly and even helped capture the perfect shots of the adorable Tarsias from all the best angles. Just look at those photos – they’re pure magic!

The Nuestra Senora de la Luz Church in Loon is simply dazzling at night! As we were wandering around searching for a dinner spot, we caught a glimpse of the church illuminated against the dark sky. Its beauty was so captivating that we couldn't resist doubling back just to soak it all in. What a stunning sight!
It was built in the mid-18th century and was rebuilt after the massive earthquake in 2013. It’s repeatedly reconstructed due to numerous damages too.

3. Hermit beach
We arrived at this beach at the last minute just after the sunset but could still enjoy it. The big pink/red sky, white sand beach, quiet and few travelers were speechless. Time flew while watching the gradient of the sunset, and it was so mindful to spend my time just for this moment that I haven’t had for ages… I often remember my mum saying, “Watching the sunset occurs me that human are such small things. All my worries are insignificant…”  That’s so true.

4. White beach
It’s so disappointing. Bins were everywhere so it ruined the ocean landscape but also sanitation. I assume that many tourists have chucked bins here without any care for our mother nature. This beach was meant to be a quieter local great spot than other beaches so it should be clean. But the reality was so opposite.
I reckon rubbish bins should be placed on the beach and all the tourists and locals look after.

5. Cuisine

Likewise, fish and vegetables were the main dishes. We tried local eateries, vegetarian, and Italian restaurants.
Getting back to our familiar meals was such a comfort like taking a break from the food adventures.…

6. Funny belly experience

Everything was so yummy but I had a massive stomachache after the dish at the local eatery. I reckon the stwered poke might be the cause because I had no meat for ages and the pod was outside under the roof for all day so it might have gone bad though I didn't smell or notice anything. The first couple of days, I took Japanese tablets I had but that didn't fully cure me so went to a local pharmacy to get the right medicines. They gave me the tablets to stop both diarrhea and stomachache. It worked!
Udon at the Japanese restaurant was a lifesaver too.

7. Accommodation

The last hotel we stayed at was Tagbilaran located on the hill so the watching stunning sunset was our routine. Bohol Ecotel, is a budget-friendly hotel and has a great service, the room was spotless and breakfast included.
I highly recommend this accommodation.
