The last week in Bohol/Cebu -week 4 in the Philippines-

 1. Bye-bye to our bike.

1. Farewell to Our Bike

A little bike has served us well; it truly became our travel companion. In the Philippines and many other countries, motorbikes are a primary mode of transportation due to their affordability and easy accessibility, especially in rural areas. Riding a bike is not only enjoyable but can also be a bit dangerous. However, if you drive safely and remain aware of other vehicles, you’ll be just fine. We were introduced to a local bike rental shop, where the staff was friendly and professional.

2. A swift shop

Great value and lovely designs can be found at this second-hand shop. Browsing through these places is fun because there are always unique discoveries in design. Another reason I like recycling shops is that they are environmentally friendly, allowing us to reduce waste and make use of resources we already have. I found a denim shirt and some T-shirts that were winners for me, while he bought real Levi's jeans, not a copy, and shirts in navy that looked almost new. These were great additions to our wardrobe for our next journey.

3. Heritage of Cebu Monument.

We also came across the Heritage of Cebu Monument, known as the Parian Monument. This impressive structure was created by Filipino sculptors and architects and depicts important moments in Filipino history.

4.Cebu Ocean Park.

What a fun spot! There are so many different kinds of fish, reptiles, and birds. What amazed me the most was the three-dimensional layout! There were water tanks where we could view animals from above, as well as fish tank tunnels that allowed us to walk through and see rays swimming above us. One of my favorites included colorful lizards and clownfish, famously known as "Nemo." Can you find my partner in the bottom-right photo? And can you see the exclamation mark above me in the top-left picture?

5. SM Seaside City Cebu
Right next to the aquarium is this mega shopping centre that's within walking distance. We loved the huge Christmas tree display and the cute puffy Santa we could snap photos with. There were so many shops and restaurants, we never had a dull moment! I was on a mission to find new sneakers since my old pair was falling apart. The prices were a bit higher than I expected, but I found some great designs! A bit of research helped me out.

6. BRADS BARBERS
It was his turn or a hair cut, and we loved the vibes at This barber. The staff was young and th industrial interior was really cool. After a short consultation using gestures, the barber instantly got what he wanted and added his flair. He looked great!

7. Night scene in Cebu.
The night scene in Cebu is beautiful. We took walks every night to enjoy the landscape and visit restaurants and bars. The view of traffic and flowing cars was photogenic. The pub in the top picture was our favorite spot, featuring live music with a collection of 90's hits. We couldn't help but sing along!

8. Food of the week.

I popped into Jollibee, a Filipino fast food chain, for snacks. We also tried Persian Palate, a Persian restaurant featuring an entirely vegetarian menu, making it easy to choose what to eat. Each plate was a large portion, so we couldn’t finish them and didn’t feel like having beers afterward, but everything was delicious. We also enjoyed stir-fried vegetables and noodles at a local eatery. I couldn't recommend enough Sakurajima Kiwami, a Japanese restaurant run by a Japanese-Filipino couple that offers authentic dishes. We had ramen, okonomiyaki, and ebimayo, which were fantastic and truly tasted like Japan. They even made Takoyaki using a special plate. Thank you for a delicious meal!

9. Clean and cosy accommodation.
Our last stay in Cebu was comfortable and spacious with a king-size bed and a veranda. I prefer this size of mattress because it is large enough so we don’t disturb each other. The room was clean, and we were happy to have cable channels.
