Pai - Week 5 in Thailand -

Heading to Northern Thailand fascinated us—we wanted to discover places unfamiliar to us—so I deliberately avoided checking travel sites to keep the experience a surprise. What we found was a tiny village packed with backpackers in the centre, yet I was certain the surrounding countryside would be spectacular, with mountains, caves, and waterfalls. Renting a bike felt essential. Full of excitement, we set off on the road with our new travel mate.

However, our adventure came to an abrupt end after a four-hour ride due to a bike accident. As a result, the photos below—of Bamboo Village—became both our first and last attraction. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries, only scratches and sprains, so we chose to see ourselves as lucky that it hadn’t turned into something far worse.

In the end, the only thing we truly got to enjoy was our guesthouse. It was not only budget-friendly but also surrounded by quiet nature. Our mornings began with birdsong and a fresh breakfast, followed by long, restful hours spent healing. Time passed slowly and peacefully, and in that stillness, we found a different kind of comfort.

The roof was made of large leaves - what an amazing and eco-friendly idea. Every part of the little house was built using natural materials.
